An interview is required for admission to The Lawrenceville School. Your visit will include a student led tour and an interview with an Admission Counselor. If you are unable to visit The Lawrenceville School’s campus, you may interview closer to home with a Lawrenceville alumni or schedule a Skype interview. If interested in either of these options, please make your selection below to fill out the proper request form:
Step 3: Testing
- All testing must be from the current academic year.
- Candidates for grades 9 and 10 must take the SSAT (www.ssat.org). We only accept test scores directly from SSAT; we do not accept copies from your school or consultant. We also accept the ISEE in lieu of the SSAT.
11th grade candidates may submit the results of the SSAT, PSAT, SAT, or ACT.
12th grade and Post-Graduate candidates may submit results from PSAT, SAT, and ACT.
International Applicants: All international applicants must demonstrate proficiency in oral and written English. For applicants whose native language is not English, and whose language of instruction for the most recent four years of schooling has not been English, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required. The Lawrenceville School does not offer a formal ESL program; however, academic support is available for international students on a limited basis.
Candidates for grades 9 and 10 must take the SSAT (www.ssat.org). It
will be given nationally in November, December, January, and also in February.
The December testing date is preferable. Be sure to list the Lawrenceville code
(4564) when you register for the test. We only accept test scores
directly from SSAT; we do not accept copies from your school or
consultant. To prevent delays be sure to list us as a score recipient
when you register for your test. We will also accept the ISEE in lieu of the

Step 4: Apply
Lawrenceville accepts two forms of application. CHOOSE ONE:
Lawrenceville Online Application: Complete your entire Lawrenceville application online.
Standard Application On Line (SAO)
: Applicants applying to multiple schools may want to consider applying through the SSAT SAO. After we receive notice that you have begun the application process using the SAO, we will forward instructions to create your Lawrenceville Application portal, through which you can track the status of your application and receive your admission decision.
Please note: If you apply with the Lawrenceville Online Application through our Application Portal, it is imperative that you DO NOT submit an application to Lawrenceville through the Standard Application Online (SAO) from the Secondary School Admission Test Board (SSATB). Submitting multiple applications will delay the processing of your application.

Personal recommendation letters, artwork, videos, etc. may be submitted as a PDF or an html link to a publicly available site (like YouTube). Financial Aid Candidates
Please check the financial aid request box on the Inquiry Form. Parents who will apply for financial aid must complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) online at www.nais.org with the School and Student Services (SSS) by February 1. Be sure to list The Lawrenceville School code 4564. Send a copy of your current Federal Income Tax Return and W-2 Form to SSS and follow instructions listed on the SSS website. In case of divorce or separation, both parents are required to complete the Parents' Financial Statement.
