Complete the Inquiry Form

All prospective students who wish to receive the Viewbook, schedule an interview, receive invitations to events in their home area, and apply to The Lawrenceville School should first submit this Inquiry Form.

Tests

International candidates for grades 9 and 10 must take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT). Applicants should investigate as soon as possible test center availability in their country, as the SSAT is not administered with the same frequency outside of the U.S. If the SSAT is not given in the applicant’s country, we will evaluate other standardized test results from the applicant’s record.

We only accept test scores directly from SSAT; we do not accept copies from your school or consultant. To prevent delays be sure to list us as a score recipient when you register for your test. We will also accept the ISEE in lieu of the SSAT.

  • International candidates for grade 11 may submit results from an SSAT, or alternatively, a PSAT, SAT, or ACT taken within the current school year.
  • International candidates for grade 12 and the post-graduate year must submit results from a PSAT, SAT, or ACT taken within the current year.

All international applicants must demonstrate proficiency in oral and written English. For applicants whose native language is not English, and whose language of instruction for the most recent four years of schooling has not been English, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required.

A formal interview is required for admission to Lawrenceville. We offer interview appointments from September through January, and recommend your visit to campus as an important part of getting to feel the warmth and strength of community that makes Lawrenceville a special place.

Tour and Interview Schedule

Review our Blackout Date Schedule for unavailable dates.

If you are not able to visit Lawrenceville for a formal interview, you may refer to our Alumni Interview Network to schedule an interview closer to home. We also offer interviews via Skype on select dates (please see the interview schedule above, Skype interviews are listed in red). Requests for Skype and alumni interviews must be made prior to December 13, with an interview completion deadline of January 16. Applicants must have submitted an Inquiry Form and Part I (the Candidate Statement) of the online application prior to requesting an alumni interview, or appointment by Skype.

Please contact us at admission@lawrenceville.org to notify us if you have scheduled an alumni interview, or to schedule an appointment with an Admissions Counselor via Skype. Please provide your Skype ID and preferred dates based on our interview schedule above.

If the deadline for scheduling an interview has passed, we will waive the interview requirement. Once the Admission Committee reviews an application, we may contact an applicant for additional information as needed.

Application

Lawrenceville accepts two forms of application:

  1. Lawrenceville Online Application: Complete your entire Lawrenceville application online. Applications for 2015 admission are now being accepted.

Please note:  If you decide to apply using the Lawrenceville Application through our Application Portal, it is imperative that you DO NOT also submit an application to Lawrenceville using the Standard Application Online (SAO) through the Secondary School Admission Test Board (SSATB).  Submitting multiple applications will delay the processing of your application.

  2. SSAT Standard Application Online (SAO): Applicants applying to multiple schools may want to consider applying through the SSAT SAO.

Please note:  Your application will come to us through the SSAT Standard Application On Line.  As such, it is imperative that you DO NOT submit any part of your application, including essays or recommendations, through the Lawrenceville Application Portal.   Submitting multiple applications will delay the processing of your application.

After we receive notice that you have begun the application process using the SAO, we will forward directions to create your Lawrenceville Application portal through which you can track the status of your application and receive your admission decision.
Additional/Non-Standard Application Materials

We realize that some applicants may wish to submit additional materials that are not required, such as: additional personal recommendations/letters other than from your math and English teachers or Principal/Head of School, photographs, artwork, CD/DVDs or other media, or copies of awards/certificates.

To submit your materials electronically in PDF format directly to the Lawrenceville School you may:

  1. Upload them through your Lawrenceville Application Portal if you are applying through the Lawrenceville Online Application.
  2. Email them as PDF files to admission@lawrenceville.org if you are applying through the SAO.
