Lawrenceville is proud to offer financial aid providing support to those students with demonstrated need. The current financial aid budget of over $10.16 million reflects the School’s commitment to supporting students from a broad range of economic situations.
When considering an independent school education, families should expect to contribute to their child’s educational costs at the highest possible level given their economic situation. For those families who are unable to meet the full cost of a Lawrenceville education, financial assistance is available. All financial aid awards are based solely upon the family’s need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. No awards are based on the academic, athletic, extracurricular activities, or talents of the applicant. Lawrenceville does not award merit scholarships as incentive to matriculate.
The 2012-2013 tuition charge for boarding students is $51,025, for day students, $42,185. In addition, there is a required medical fee of $725 for boarders and $450 for day students, and a technology fee of $445 for boarders and $300 for day students. Parents are also required to purchase a tuition refund insurance at the cost of .9% of the tuition (adjusted for any financial aid award). The actual annual cost to educate a student at Lawrenceville is $70,000 (including financial aid). The difference between the annual cost and tuition is met by income from the endowment and generous gifts from alumni, parents, and friends.
