Policies and Procedures

Primarily, training for Lawrenceville student-athletes will take place in the Al Rashid Strength and Conditioning Center, and will be conducted by the Head and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coaches. Each team’s respective coaches are requested to attend lifting sessions for support, and to ensure team/individual attendance. Occasionally, manual resistance and/or speed and footwork sessions will be conducted on the team’s respective venue. Teams will be assigned to train during specific half-hour time slots. Each student athlete is expected to attend the team session, or, (in special cases, etc.) a pre-arranged individual time. The following are rules that must be adhered to concerning training:

  1. Only members of Lawrenceville school community are permitted to use the Al Rashid Strength and Conditioning Center.
  2. One of the two strength and conditioning coaches must be present at all times for student-athletes or faculty/staff to enter/use the fitness center.
  3. Access to the facility is during regular fitness center hours, Monday through Friday. No individual student-athletes are allowed in fitness center without their team during the peak team training hours.
  4. There are no lockers in the Fitness Center. Personal items can be lined up along the floor/wall in the hallway, but are not to be left overnight.
  5. Appropriate athletic apparel (shorts, t-shirts, sweats, and sneakers) should be worn at all times when training in the Fitness Center. No jeans, khakis, half-tops, or footwear of any kind other than sneakers are permitted.
  6. All athletes should lift responsibly by using a spotter, using clips on the bars, and ensuring that safety bars (for squats) are placed on the squat rack.
  7. All equipment should be put in its proper storage place. All weights MUST be racked after use.
  8. All equipment should be wiped down after use. Paper towel dispensers and bottles of disinfectant are available.
  9. Towels are provided by the Center for use during the workout. We encourage the athletes to use them during their training sessions and place them in the laundry bin when done.
  10. Horseplay and offensive language are strictly prohibited.
  11. We encourage the athletes to bring water bottles and keep hydrated during their training sessions. All trash must be thrown out.
  12. School policy discourages the use of supplements of any kind (protein, creatine, etc.) These items are not to be brought to the fitness center or onto the campus.
  13. To ensure safety and balance in the workout programs, all athletes will be provided with a workout created by either Coach Specos or Coach Rienzo. Any outside workouts, (i.e. college workout programs) must be approved by the Strength and Conditioning and Staff.
