E.E. Ford Grant Offers Matching Funds for Interdisciplinary Studies Program

Lawrenceville is one of the first five schools to receive an Educational Leadership Grant from the Edward E. Ford Foundation, a philanthropic organization that seeks to improve secondary education by supporting selected programs of independent schools. E.E. Ford has been making grants since 1957, but the Leadership Grants are a new initiative, one that recognizes programs deemed capable of transforming the way secondary education is delivered. The $250,000 grant will support the three-year launch of Lawrenceville’s redesigned Interdisciplinary Studies Program, providing funding for course development, co-teaching stipends, interdisciplinary consultants, and summer workshops for faculty. However, receipt of the funds is contingent on the School’s ability to raise the $1 million in endowed funds necessary to sustain the program at the end of the three-year period.

Named, endowed funds for the Interdisciplinary Studies Program, like most other named fund opportunities in The Bicentennial Campaign, begin at the $100,000 level. A gift of $1 million will entitle the donor to name the Interdisciplinary Studies Program.
