The experience was amazing -- an intellectual summit of overwhelming success.
It was an incredible opportunity to learn in a no-class, no-grade environment and see what wonderful things happen when kids learn for the sake of learning.
At school, teachers have to teach but often do not have anything to say. This is not the case at the New Jersey Scholars Program. You do not come here to be taught, you come because this is a place where everyone wants to learn.
Being around fellow students of the same mental capacity inspired me to think "outside the box."
NJSP offered an entire new way of thinking. I was encouraged to learn, ask questions, participate. I've learned more in these 5 weeks than in any other experience in my life.
I enjoyed the way the program treated us as college students.
The seminars were my favorite. The open discussion and arguing is a much more effective way of learning than straight dictation from a teacher.
I truly believe that I grew and developed educationally and emotionally from my experience this summer. The Program has helped me to prepare for college as well as life.
The real joy of the program was the seminar experience.
I learned a lot about my capabilities and realized that by pushing myself a little harder and by putting my mind to my task, I was able to accomplish all my goals
Attending this summer program has given me a better idea of what college will be like, and I have a new confidence when it comes to making decisions about my future.
It [the Program] was the best thing I have ever done with my spare time. It was a great experience to learn and broaden by horizons and meet other students who share my love for learning.
