Scholars' Reflections on Summer 2003

NJSP allowed me to function in an incredibly intellectual environment without worrying about grades. It was truly learning for the sake of learning.

I learned more in the five weeks of seminars here than in three years of high school . . . For the first time ever, I'm sad that school is ending.

Each teacher not only taught us new and profound ideas but also challenged me to expand my thinking and ways of thought . . . . I sincerely believe the program enabled me to evolve as a person both intellectually and socially.

At times, I could almost feel my brain lifting weights.

If only the school year resembled the New Jersey Scholars Program.

They say that as a teenager you should have at least one phenomenal summer experience. NJSP was that experience.

From this experience I received five weeks of learning in a relaxed environment. No pressure from grades or trying to meet expectations. Just doing the best I could for the sheer enjoyment of it.

I feel this program has greatly prepared me for college.

Something I'll never forget -- the perfect mixture of intellectual stimulation, community experience and experience into scholarly life.
