Al Rashid Health and Wellness Center
As a Center for Disease Control (CDC) public health sentinel surveillance provider, The Lawrenceville School's Al Rashid Health and Wellness Center is actively involved in monitoring and reporting "Influenza-Like-Illnesses." The Health Center's medical staff is in regular communication with New Jersey local and state public health officials, and actively responds to and implements recommendations, guidance, and directives provided by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (NJDHSS) and the CDC.
As influenza activity continues across the country, The Lawrenceville School actively encourages everyone in the community to get the seasonal influenza vaccine and members of priority groups to get the new H1N1 vaccine; in addition to the everyday practice of preventive actions such as frequent hand washing and respiratory etiquette, staying home when sick and the correct use of antiviral medications if your doctor recommends them.
This web site provides up-to-date information about novel H1N1 influenza and seasonal flu, as well as provides convenient links to other reliable resources.
