Weeden Lecturer Sean Wilentz Examines the Roots of American Antislavery

For more than a quarter century, Lawrenceville’s annual Weeden Lecture Series has brought some of the most noted American historians to campus to share their expertise with the School community. This year’s speaker, Sean Wilentz, continued that tradition. Wilentz, the Princeton University George Henry Davis 1886 Professor of History, addressed the anti-slavery tradition in America.

Alumni Awards Ceremony Recognizes Alumni and Former Faculty

One of the highlights of Alumni Reunion Weekend is the Alumni Awards Ceremony, where alumni are recognized for exceptional volunteerism on behalf of Lawrenceville, new Selectors and a new Alumni Trustee are announced, and the Harkness Award is presented to a former faculty member for outstanding classroom teaching during their Lawrenceville tenure.

Ask girls’ varsity lacrosse offensive player Allegra Alexander ’27 what it feels like to stay after practice and shoot on her own, and she doesn’t hesitate. “There’s nothing better than hearing the sound of a ball ping the back of the net,” she said. “I can just turn my mind off, let go, and do whatever feels right in the moment. It’s freeing.”
