The Lawrenceville School is an investment in your child and in our community, and we take that seriously. In addition to a robust academic experience, Lawrenceville also provides lifelong skills – collaborating as part of a team, engaging disparate views with respect and confidence, thinking deeply and asking intelligent questions, and living in community with peers from around the world. Lawrenceville helps prepare students for whatever comes next.

Learning is enriched when it happens among students with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives – and we work hard to maintain this tenet of a Lawrenceville School education. For families who qualify, we meet 100% of the cost of attendance. Our average need-based aid package is $63,000 for boarding students and $46,000 for day students. More than 30% of our students receive aid. If your family may need financial assistance during your student’s time at Lawrenceville, we encourage you to apply. We don’t just look at numbers – we want to understand your family’s unique situation.

How to Apply for Scholarship Aid
The deadline to apply for Scholarship Aid is January 15, but you can begin at any time using the steps below.
Submit Inquiry Form
Our Inquiry Form includes a prompt to indicate your interest in applying for aid.
Submit Admission Application
After submitting an inquiry, complete the admission application through Gateway. Fee waivers are available for Vericant (online interview platform used for international applicants), SSAT and ISEE test takers, and application fees. To request a waiver, please email scholarshipaid@lawrenceville.org.
Submit Aid Application
Complete the aid application through Clarity. Please note, it is the parents' responsibility to pay education expenses. As such, we require an application and supporting documentation from both parents.
Upload Required Financial Documentation
A family's eligibility for aid is determined through careful analysis of information provided on the scholarship aid application, Clarity, and through submission of a family's current, complete, federal tax return. This analysis identifies the dollar amount of a family's discretionary income that is available for tuition and fees.
Our Approach to Scholarship Aid
Committed to meeting the full, demonstrated need of all students, Lawrenceville provides need-based grants to support each and every student. Unlike loans, these grants do not need to be repaid; they are Lawrenceville's investment in your student and in our broader community. As we continue to make a Lawrenceville education a reality for all students, we strive for:

Access and Affordability
Make Lawrenceville accessible for students from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
Clear Process

Open Communication
As a senior, when I look back on my Lawrenceville experience, I am so grateful for the people that fostered me into the person I have become. Lawrenceville cultivates such a unique group of students that all have different experiences, talents, and backgrounds, but each contributes their own fundamental roles to the community.

Need-Based Aid Scholarships
As part of our need-based aid, Lawrenceville offers hundreds of scholarships to encourage the myriad forms of diversity that are a hallmark of our community. There is no separate application process for these scholarships. By submitting a need-based aid application, students are automatically considered for these scholarships, which support geographic, religious, and cultural diversity.
One of our signature need-based scholarships is the Davis Scholars Program, designed to increase and diversify the international student population.
This scholarship provides financial and transition support for exceptional students who come from around the world. The first Davis Scholars graduated from Lawrenceville in 2009, and since that time more than 75 Davis Scholars have enrolled at Lawrenceville, enriching our community in meaningful ways.
All international students who complete an admission application and a need-based aid application will be considered for a Davis Scholarship. Admission into the Davis Scholars program is highly competitive.
