Bednar Lowers Her 5K State Record – Now Top Five Nationally

On Saturday in Edison, N.J. during the Garden State Track Club Spring Opener Charlotte Bednar ’22 blasted a 15:52.10 in the 5K. She lowered her own New Jersey state record and moved into the top five all-time nationally for high school girls. Bednar was running unattached.
She set her previous record – 16:44.21 – at the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation Meet of Champions in March. Bednar is now one of just eight girls to run under 16 minutes outdoors in high school.
