Thanks for Making Big Red Giving Day a Success!

Lawrentians once again demonstrated their capacity to rise to – and surpass – any challenge. Between 12:00 midnight and 11:59 p.m. ET on November 1, our sixth annual Big Red Giving Day, Lawrenceville alumni, parents and friends made 1,132 gifts and pledges totaling $1,448,312 to support The Lawrenceville Fund/Parents Fund. Lawrentians easily met a generous Trustee Challenge, which promised $100,000 for each 200 gifts or pledges, up to $500,000 for 1000 gifts. This brought the total dollar amount for the day to an outstanding $1,948,312, a new Big Red Giving Day record!

The Lawrenceville Fund/Parents Fund supports everything from faculty salaries to financial aid, athletics to the arts, and the tangible and intangible on the Lawrenceville campus. The Fund contributes a vital 10 percent or more to the School’s operating budget each year. With the support received on #BigRedGivingDay and throughout the year, we can continue to provide outstanding lifelong experiences for all Lawrentians and fulfill our mission to inspire the best in each to seek the best for all.

A special thanks to alumni and parent volunteers and Alumni Office staffers who manned the phones and sent emails throughout the day, and members of the School’s Communications Office who posted #BigRedGivingDay status updates on the Lawrenceville website and social media channels.

“Thank you to the Lawrenceville family for exceeding our already high hopes for #BigRedGivingDay,” said Head Master Steve Murray H’55 ’65 ’16 P’16 ’21. “The collective effort and spirit of alumni, parents and friends on #BigRedGivingDay supports everything that makes Lawrenceville extraordinary. Your participation and generosity ensure that we can continue to strengthen the academic rigor and sense of community that have come to define the Lawrenceville experience, while meeting the everyday needs of our faculty, students and facilities.”

We'd love to share your story with other Lawrentians. E-mail us here with your news or activities and we'll be in touch.
