Big Red Basketball: ¿Hablas Español?
Form cross-cultural connections with local high school basketball players, both on the court and off, set against the backdrop of a country steeped in a rich multicultural history and an icon of European basketball success.
In March 2022, we will travel to 2 major Spanish cities — Cordoba and Barcelona — to experience national and international basketball competitions, taste local cuisine, tour the cities and surrounding areas, bond as a team, and connect with peers through school visits and sports.
Not only will we gain a global perspective on the game of basketball, we will also get a glimpse into the lives of how teenagers in another corner of the world live, play, and study! Lawrentians interested in traveling must be a member of the basketball program during the 2021/22 season. The trip is open to 12 girls and 12 boys. While traveling in Spain, student athletes are expected to represent both Lawrenceville and their team with behavior becoming of a Lawrentian. This means abiding by local laws, following school rules, engaging in the highest degree of sportsmanship during competitions, and maintaining an open-mind!
Sign-Up Instructions
Participation for all Lawrenceville Harkness Travel Programs is dependent upon a review of student applications, Head of House/Advisor recommendations, medical fitness for participation, and financial and disciplinary standing. Seniority and gender balance is also considered in the selection process.
Application to this program is not considered complete until both of the following items have been submitted:
Head of House/Day Advisor Recommendation must be completed and submitted to Louise Wright by Monday, November 1, 2021.
Application Survey must be completed by Monday, November 1, 2021.

*Current cost is based on the posted price of flights available at the time of trip planning. There is the potential for this to change. Participants will be alerted to any changes at time of trip sign-ups.
Families will receive a list of all MANDATORY vaccines that are required. All travelers must be up to date on routine vaccines.
