Explore the rich history of Classical Greece at sights in Athens, Delphi, Epidaurus, and the island of Crete! This 10-day adventure in partnership with WorldStrides will bring you to a variety of historical and cultural sites that were focal points of Ancient Greece. Climb the steps of the Acropolis of Athens that has witnessed the rise and fall of empires of millennia and marvel at the timeless Parthenon. Stand in the ruins of the Oracle of Delphi, the most important religious site in Greece and the location of some of the oldest Olympic games. Explore in museums the treasures of the past and the relics of the people who revolutionized political theory and philosophy, who laid the foundations for concepts such as "democracy" and "justice". At each location students will read the historical accounts of original Greek texts in English translation that bring the physical landscape of Greece to life by connecting past with present.

Our trip begins with three days visiting historical sites in Athens and in the ancient district of Attica, where we trace the story of the rise and fall of one of the greatest cities in history. We then travel to central Greece to explore religious cultural sites at Delphi, Epidaurus, and Olympia. In the final leg of our journey, we travel by boat to the island of Crete and explore the Palace of Knossos: one of the oldest remaining structures in all of Europe and a central location to many episodes from Greek mythology. Along the way we take in the cultural history of Greece by observing the architectural landscape of the cities through the centuries and by savoring the local cuisine. Come experience the past in the places where it happened!
