Associate Director of College Counseling Tim Cross Named to ACCIS 360 Review Team

Lawrenceville Associate Director of College Counseling Tim Cross has been named to the 360 Review team of the Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools (ACCIS), an international membership organization providing support, shared knowledge, and professional development programming for college counselors based in independent (non-public) schools around the globe. ACCIS provides professional development, mentorship, and thought leadership to promote ethical and student-centered educational policies and practices.

The 360 Review team provides college counselors and their schools the opportunity to assess their current best practices. Each review is a robust and thorough review process comprised of both an internal and external audit of programs and services, including feedback from college admission representatives.

“I'm excited about the opportunity to travel across the country [when conditions allow] to conduct these reviews, observe counseling practitioners in practice, and help them understand their strengths and areas of growth,” said Cross. “In turn, I hope to reflect on what I've done and learned during these reviews, and bring back to Lawrenceville ideas and processes for the benefit of our office and students."

College admissions evolves each year, and college counselors must learn and adapt to the current trends and issues affecting students in the college application process, Cross explained. “We always focus directly on our Lawrenceville students, programming, and policies, but the opportunity to see what other schools are doing and work with a team of professionals seeking the same path of growth as me is invaluable,” he said.
