Campus Construction Project Updates for Spring 2021

Lawrenceville’s historic landmark campus is in the midst of exciting updates this spring and the School is pleased to share them with Lawrentians.

Tsai Field House
Students returning for the remainder of the academic year will notice Phase I construction of Tsai Field House is well underway. Check out the beginnings of the new pool, hockey rink, dining facility, community fitness center, and lobby via the links below.

Phase I construction began in summer 2020 with an anticipated opening in fall of 2022. Phase II is a renovation of the basketball and squash courts, indoor track, indoor practice facilities, wrestling room, and performance fitness center. This portion of the project is expected to open in fall 2023.

Tsai Field House is proceeding under the leadership of Lawrenceville’s internal Project Management Group, guided by the School’s Chief Operating Officer Pete DeVine. In partnership with Sasaki, the premier interdisciplinary design firm that envisioned the Gruss Center for Art and Design (GCAD), and The Higley Company, an industry leader in construction, the 250,000 square foot Tsai Field House is pursuing Silver LEED status.

Noyes Quad
Students will enjoy spring in the newly renovated Noyes Quad, which includes lighted walkways, sodding, and irrigation, and was re-graded to improved drainage. The walkways connect the Noyes History Center to GCAD, and the McPherson and Reynolds Houses, reinforcing the Quad as a community hub. The paths between Hogate Hall and the Kirby Arts Center (KAC) have also been redone, and the improved, ADA-accessible entrance to the KAC is in the final stages of construction.

Campus Entrances
The Baker Gate is being renovated and widened, and cameras and remote access are being added to it and the Service Drive Gate. These enhancements will provide an additional security measure and allow more effective monitoring of campus access.
