USA Lacrosse Names Jon Posner as U.S. Youth National Team U15 Coach

USA Lacrosse has selected Jon Posner, Lawrenceville’s head boys’ varsity lacrosse coach as head coach of the U.S. Youth National Teams at the U15 age grouping as part of the National Team Development Program.

“It’s a great opportunity and I can’t wait to get started,” said Posner.

Since taking over as the head coach at The Lawrenceville School in 2020, Posner has turned the program into a national power, including consecutive No. 1 finishes in the USA Lacrosse National Boys’ rankings in 2023 and 2024. Prior to that, he built the Culver Academy program in Indiana into one of the nation’s best, including three No. 1 national rankings. He has a career coaching record of 344-64 entering the 2025 season and more than 150 of his players have gone on to play college lacrosse. Posner is a 1997 graduate of Scranton, where he played lacrosse.

“I'm incredibly honored to be named the head coach of the U15 Team USA. Any time you have the chance to represent your country, it's special, and I’m excited to work with these young athletes at such a pivotal stage in their development,” said Posner.

Lawrenceville’s boys’ lacrosse program, he explained, “emphasizes accountability, a relentless work ethic, and being great teammates—values that translate at any level. I hope to instill that same culture within Team USA, helping these players grow both on and off the field while competing at the highest level.”

Posner said the opportunity to collaborate, learn, and compete on the international stage will not only help Team USA succeed but will also push him to be a better coach. “I look forward to bringing those experiences back to Lawrenceville to continue elevating our program and helping our players grow,” he stated.

Big Red boys’ varsity lacrosse begins its season at home on March 11, 4 p.m., vs. LaSalle College High School.
