WinterFest Turns 21 in ‘23

Lawrenceville’s beloved student-led theater festival begins tonight! The 21st annual WinterFest features nine plays, including two world premier productions by penned by Lawrentians. The Kirby Arts Center Black Box stage will host all performances on Feb. 10 (7 p.m.) and Feb. 11 (7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.). All current members of the School community are invited to attend – tickets are first come, first served for current students.

"WinterFest is an amazing opportunity to watch shows directed by your friends fully realized on stage!” said Autri Basu ’23, head of WinterFest. “It's a fun night of both comedy and drama, and with the intimate nature of the Black Box, you'll get to experience theater up close and personal."

Kirby Arts Center Technical Director Jamie Cuthrell, WinterFest faculty advisor, is especially excited about the two original plays, “Chai” by Anoushka Sharma ’23 and “Love is Knocking on Your Door” by Fourth Formers Adrian and Sofia Carlisi. “WinterFest presents the perfect opportunity for student playwrights to work on their craft, test out ideas, and experience learning at it’s finest in the performing arts,” he said.
