Celebrating an Extended Earth Day at Lawrenceville

Lawrenceville’s ongoing sustainability efforts were on display last weekend as the School celebrated an extended Earth Day.

On April 24, the community celebrated on Crescent Green, with Earth Day trivia, seed planting, make-your-own toothbrushes, and tips on reducing, reusing, and recycling campus waste. Students also biked to local Rosedale Park where they helped plant new trees. On April 26, staff from the Stroud Water Research Center installed two wireless water quality monitors on the campus stream, known as the Shipetaukin Creek. The monitors will help provide a baseline water quality level, the start of a long-term, student research project to document (and improve) current watershed health conditions in the creek, a Delaware River tributary.
