Dance Fever is Coming to Lawrenceville
Lisa Gillard Hanson

The only kind of fever you want to have is coming to the Kirby Arts Center: Dance Fever on October 30 at 7 p.m. All current members of the School community are invited to attend. Performing will be FRObeats, Lawrenceville Dance Team, Lawrenceville School Dance Collective, LKrew, Nachael, Suave, and Tour de Force.

Director of Dance Derrick Wilder said that Lawrenceville’s quarterly Dance Series brings students-artists what they’ve always wanted: more opportunities to perform and to choreograph. Dance is an easy way to bring people together, he explained. “We all like music. You feel that beat and it enters the soles of your feet, it works its way up your body, and before you know it, you’re moving.”

The audience will be treated to dance from a variety of cultural backgrounds, each with their own rhythms and grooves. “Dance is the place where diversity not only lives, but thrives,” Wilder stated. “It’s important that we all see ourselves reflected on stage.”
