Lawrenceville Presents “The Addams Family, The Musical”

All members of the current School community are invited to attend Lawrenceville’s production of the musical, “The Addams Family, The Musical” at the Kirby Arts Center October 14-15 at 7:30 p.m.

Based on the classic pop culture family created by cartoonist Charles Addams, the ghoulish cast of characters bring their affinity for macabre into the present day as young Wednesday falls in love and pushes her family to act "normal."

“’Family first, family last, family by and by’ – it’s straight out of the opening song and that’s the theme for the production. What really matters are the people we connect with, now more than ever,” explained Lawrenceville Theater Director Matt Campbell, who serves as both director and set designer for “The Addams Family, The Musical.”

Cast, crew, and orchestra have been working diligently (and COVID-cautiously) since early September to perfect the production. “When you think about what a Lawrentian does to be part of a musical - they give up a lot of their free time in a condensed span of just six and a half weeks - it’s incredible. Learning the music, learning the steps, learning the lines and working together,” said Campbell. “On the technical side of things, building the costumes, putting together the hair and wigs, prepping for makeup, doing the scenery, and construction, and painting, and rigging, and hanging, and propping … so much stuff comes together in such a short time! Everyone has been so resilient and understanding, and passionate about everything. I’m so proud of them all.”
