Pier Kooistra Chosen as Class of 2021 Faculty Speaker

The Class of 2021 has selected English teacher Pier Kooistra as its Faculty Speaker. Kooistra will address the Fifth Form on May 29. “This is an immense honor,” said Kooistra.

“The Class of '21 has been through so much--and deprived of so much. Their response? Just to dive in all the deeper, dig in all the harder,” Kooistra said. “I've relished every single day this year of working with them, through English courses, through their work as Ropes Course instructors and prefects, and as drivers of urgent campus initiatives aimed at helping us to realize far more fully our mission, ‘to seek the best for ALL,’ including groups, causes, and issues that in the past haven't always received the attention, recognition, and support they deserve.”

He continued, “Frankly, I'm downright greedy for as much time as possible with these amazing '21s. So, one more opportunity to be in their company is a joy.”
