Register Now & Become a Lawrenceville Summer Scholar

The days are getting shorter and the weather is getting colder … it’s time to start planning your summer! Register today to become a Lawrenceville Summer Scholar, as either a day or virtual learning student. Classes run from July 12-30.

Summer Scholars is the perfect opportunity for rising sixth-tenth graders to get a taste of the Lawrenceville experience. Like the school itself, the Summer Scholars Program offers a unique blend of House, Harkness, and extracurricular activities. Both Day and Virtual Scholars will participate in a full schedule of classes and activities. Grade-appropriate courses include studies in the arts, innovation and entrepreneurship, mathematics, reading and writing, and science and technology.

The Day Program is as close to going to school at Lawrenceville as you can get in the summer! From 8:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time), students study around Harkness tables, play on the School fields, and get to know other highly motivated Lawrenceville students and teachers who serve as mentors and advisors. A typical day for these scholars will consist of two classes, lunch, and both House/Advisory and afternoon activities.

Virtual Scholars are more than square spaces in a Zoom classroom. Each student serves as an integral part of the summer community. Faculty and staff get to know the Scholars both academically and personally, acting as mentors in House life and Harkness skills. Virtual Scholars can participate from anywhere in the world, thanks to morning and evening sessions. “Sun” courses run from 9 a.m. – noon (Eastern Daylight Time) and “Moon” classes are held from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time).

Just as at Lawrenceville, all Scholars will be assigned to a House and have an immediate connection to an advisor to help with the academic and social elements of the program. House life helps develop communication and community skills in a single-sex, age-grouped setting. Faculty, along with current Lawrenceville students and recent graduates, serve as prefects and advisors.

No matter where you live or where you go to school, the 2020-2021 school year is a new experience for everyone. Join the Lawrenceville Summer Scholars community to feel connected to your peers and confident and prepared to go back to school in the fall. Achieve academic and personal growth on a new adventure in a supportive environment and apply to become a Lawrenceville Summer Scholar today!
