Rising Stars Shine Bright at 2025 Underform Prizes Ceremony

On May 23, Lawrenceville celebrated the achievements, character, and leadership of Second, Third, and Fourth Formers for excellence in academics, athletics, the arts, and community life. Each prize recognized students whose dedication and impact exemplified the best of the Lawrenceville spirit.

The Visual Art Department Faculty Award: Fine Art

Given to that student who has most distinguished themselves in the fine arts through dedicated studio work and the pursuit of knowledge. Presented to: Su Yang

The Visual Art Department Prize: Painting

Given to that student who has exhibited extraordinary skill and dedication in painting. Presented to: Rebecca Streeter

Visual Art Department Prize: Drawing

Given to that student who has exhibited extraordinary skill and dedication in drawing. Presented to: Eléonore Kim

The Visual Art Department Faculty Award: Design

Given to that student who has most distinguished themselves in design through dedicated studio work and the pursuit of knowledge. Presented to: Lexian Chen

Visual Art Department Prize: Design

Given to that student who has exhibited extraordinary skill and dedication in the study of graphic design at The Lawrenceville School. Presented to: Teri Jaeyeon Kim

Awarded to an Underform student for significant contribution and extraordinary dedication to the musical arts at Lawrenceville. Presented to: Henry Tsai

The Addison H. Gery, Jr. Jazz Prize

Awarded to that member of the Fifth Form whose talent, energy, and performance skills have brought recognition to the medium of jazz in the school community. This award makes funds available for books and recordings of jazz in the library in the name of the recipient.         Presented to: Andrew Yang

The John H. Imbrie Humanities/English Prize

Awarded to a Second Former who achieves excellence in the study of English/humanities. Presented to: Zamin Rizvi

The English Department Prize for General Excellence in The Third Form

Presented to: Abhinav Sukla

The English Department Prize for General Excellence in The Fourth Form

Presented to: Dohee Lee

The Poetry Out Loud Competition School Champion Award

In recognition of a student’s achievements in the national Poetry Out Loud recitation competition. Presented to: Isabelle Lee

The History Department Prize

This prize is awarded to the student who has shown excellence in the study of history. Presented to: Zhaoqi Sun

The John H. Imbrie Humanities/Cultural Studies Prize

Given to a Second Former who has achieved excellence in the study of cultural history in the humanities. Presented to: Noah Strauss

The John T. O’Neil III Mathematics Team Award

Given to that member of the School Math Team who, in the opinion of the faculty advisor, best exemplifies the exceptional talent, commitment, and achievement in mathematics competitions that O’Neil showed while a student at Lawrenceville. Presented to: Heemin Kim

Mr. And Mrs. W.R. Niblock Award

For excellence in the study of chemistry. Presented to: Qiuen Yu

The Lawrence L. Hlavacek Bowl

Awarded annually to a resident of a Circle House and a Crescent House whose qualities of sportsmanship, enthusiasm, character, and generosity of spirit best embody the goals of intramural competition in Circle and Crescent House athletics. Presented to: Babette Henault-Bassett and Andrew Zweiback

The Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award

Presented by the West Point Society of New Jersey, this award recognizes exceptional high school juniors in New Jersey who demonstrate outstanding performance in areas of athletics, academics, community service, citizenship, and leadership. Presented to: Mohamed Mohamed

The Peter W. Dart Prize

Awarded to a Fourth Former who demonstrates superior communication skills. Presented to: Ahmed Diallo

The Beverly Whiting Anderson Prize

Established in 1959 by John F. Anderson, Class of 1888, in memory of his son, Beverly Whiting Anderson, Class of 1928, this prize is awarded to two members of the Second Form who demonstrate general excellence in behavior and scholarship. Presented to: Liqi Miao and Timi Olugbile

The Marcus D. French Memorial Prize

The Lower School’s highest award. It is presented each year to two students who, in the opinion of the Lower School Heads of House and of the Head of School, have best shown the integrity of high character and the modesty, fairness, and the courage of true sportsmanship. Presented to: Xolani Munoko and Tyler Sheppard

The Brown University Book Award

The Brown University Book Award is given to a Fourth Form student who exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills. Presented to: Zixuan Xin

The Yale Club Book Award

Presented to an outstanding student at the end of their Fourth Form year who shows stellar personal character and intellectual promise. Presented to: Mila Cooper

Harvard Club of Boston Book Award

Awarded to an outstanding member of the Fourth Form who combines excellence in scholarship with achievement in other fields and best exemplifies the traditional ideal of American citizenship. Presented to: Anthony Woo

Princeton Area Alumni Association's Book Award

Intended to recognize stellar students in area high schools who have demonstrated overall academic excellence and exemplary community service or civic engagement. Presented to: Miranda De Olden

The Eglin Society Pins

Presented to selected Fourth Form students for unselfish, uncalculating service to Lawrenceville and to fellow students; for kindness and implemented instincts to help the young or weak; and for leadership, particularly as evidenced in acts of moral courage. Inclusion in this society is considered one of the highest honors an Underform Lawrentian can earn. Presented to: Louise Carroll, Gabriella Chacko, Nicolas Chacko, Estelle Chafin, Wallis Cornell, Enoch David, Yukun Du, Robert Giuffra, Roshan Hoban, Sahana Lowy, Owen Lynch, Destiny Ortega, Jack Pintimalli, Yuhan Pei, and Andrew Zweiback

The Reuben T. And Charlotte Boykin Carlson Scholarship

Awarded to a Third Form boarding student who epitomizes the traits of an exemplary Lawrentian. This award covers a portion of the student’s tuition and expenses for their remaining two years at Lawrenceville. Presented to: Haldora Churchill

Commencement Assistant

Each year, Lawrenceville honors one exceptional Second Former with the special privilege of joining the Head of School on stage at Commencement to assist in presenting the diplomas to the graduating class. This distinction celebrates a student who exemplifies qualities of good cheer, unwavering positivity, and profound community engagement that uplifts the collective spirit of their peers. This honor this year goes to Jayden Clemons.

The Katherine W. Dresdner Cup

Awarded annually to the Crescent House which has the best record in both House and School athletics. Presented to: McClellan House

The Foresman Trophy

Awarded annually to the Circle House which has the best record in both House and School athletics.  Presented to Griswold House.

The Larrie Cup

Awarded to the Crescent, Circle, or Lower House which tallies the most participation points during this annual community-wide event. Presented to: Stanley House
