Summer Qureshi '22 Triumphs at 2022 Public Speaking Contest

Congratulations to Summer Qureshi ’22, winner of Lawrenceville’s 2022 Public Speaking Contest! Tesia Thomas ’22 placed second and Sophia Carlisi ’24 finished third. This year’s five finalists addressed the question, “What holds us back?”

All Lawrentians participate in this annual event, which begins with a first round in in English classes before culminating in a five-minute, all-School address by finalists.

English Department Chair Miranda Christoffersen, who oversees the Contest, said, “All five speakers acquitted themselves admirably, combining excellent preparation with appealing stage presence. I am proud to be associated with such a fine group and grateful to them for establishing a high standard for future years.”
