The Bunn Library Celebrates National Library Week

National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association, which takes place every April. It is a time to celebrate our nation's libraries, library workers' contributions and promote library use and support. This week, The Bunn Library is hosting myriad events to celebrate this literary occasion and all current student, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

The fun began Tuesday evening with a “Bring Your Own Book” book club meeting for employees. Attendees shared their favorite books, recent reads, and “To Be Read” lists. A Kindle Fire Tablet was up for grabs as prize in a literature-themed Kahoot competition. On Wednesday night, School archivist Jacqi Haun taught Lawrentians how to use Ancestry.com to trace their family trees and learn more about their history. All current Lawrenceville community members have free access to Ancestry.com’s Library Edition through Bunn.

The Bunn Library staff brings something special to the School community every week! The Library offers “DIY Take & Make Kits” (the current project is a light up book nook) and “Minute Clinics” (this week, an introduction Lawrenceville’s free access to NoveList Plus and NoveList K-8, readers’ advisory guides that help adults and children choose what to read next based on their favorite books). Librarians have also created curated reading selections for students, staff picks for the entire community, and personalized picture books for young children of employees.
