Tonight: Final Summer "Call to Action" Meeting

As the country faces the shooting of yet another Black person, Jacob Blake, organizations and individuals are demonstrating their desire and need for change. Lawrenceville will continue to create a community that is truly best for all — particularly for our Black students, many of whom are dealing with questions, confusion, and hurt as a result of the continued civil unrest in our nation.

“The incredible, raw emotion being felt within our community and across the country is hard to articulate,” said Rick Holifield, Lawrenceville’s Dean of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement. “Our nation is calling out for an answer to police brutality against Black people — and we are having these conversations as a school. We must build bridges and work together toward an equitable future.”

Alumni, please join us tonight for our final Call to Action session in our summer series. Lawrenceville Black Alumni Association, faculty and staff, students, and parents: if you were unable to attend the previous sessions but have thoughts on our collective path forward, or feelings to share about the Jacob Blake shooting, please email dei@lawrenceville.org.

For additional information, please contact Lisa M. Gillard Hanson, director of Public Relations, at lgillard@lawrenceville.org.
