Induction and Pinning Ceremony

Wednesday, May 21, 2025

5:00 p.m.
Kirby Arts Center
Reception will Follow Ceremony

The Lawrenceville Alumni Association will induct its newest members – the Class of 2025 – at the Fifth Form Pinning Ceremony, where leaders of the Alumni Council will address the Fifth Form and formally welcome them to the alumni community. This tradition symbolizes the transition for Lawrentians from students to alumni. Fifth Formers will each invite an alum or faculty member who was formative in their Lawrenceville experience to be their "pinner." At the Pinning, the alumni and faculty pinners will present their Fifth Formers with the traditional black and red rosette. Fifth Formers and their pinners are invited to enjoy refreshments on the KAC steps after the ceremony. Fifth Form attendance is required.

The Bowl

The Lawrenceville School will celebrate the Class of 2025 during its 215th Commencement. Lawrentians return to the area on campus where most began their Lawrenceville careers - the Bowl - to receive their diplomas from Head of School Steve Murray and congratulations from Jonathan G. Weiss '75, president of the School's Board of Trustees. Two of Lawrenceville's highest honors are awarded: The Edward Sutliffe Brainard Prize (is given annually by the faculty to the Fifth Form student whom the faculty holds in the highest esteem) and The Trustees' Cup (awarded annually by the Head of School on behalf of the Board of Trustees to that student who has most influenced the School for good). Commencement is also the time when students hear from their Class Valedictorian, who addresses the graduates, their families, and friends.

Fifth Form students, their guests (up to 12 guests per student), faculty, staff, and Underformers are welcome. View the live stream via this link. The live stream will also be shown in person in the Kirby Arts Center theater.
