She played for the U.S. Women’s National Ice Hockey team and, as a Wisconsin Badger, was a three-time all-WCHA Academic and Big Ten honoree. Now Nicole Uliasz is Lawrenceville’s Assistant Athletic Director and coach of the Big Red girls’ ice hockey team. Who does this “Philly girl” most admire and what sports would she have pursued if not for ice hockey? Find out in this week’s 5 Questions 4.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Banff, Alberta, Canada.
What living person do you most admire?
I admire Serena Williams. She is not only an amazing athlete and individual, but I most admire how she has battled through a lot of negative publicity but still continues to be positive in every aspect. She is a true competitor!
Favorite professional hockey team?
Philadelphia Flyers! I am a Philly girl all the way!
What’s the best part of being a coach?
The best part is having an impact on each player on the team in a positive way. It is rewarding hearing from a lot of the girls after college mentioning how much of an impact the hockey team had on their life. It is a time they will never forget which to me is the best feeling knowing they come away from Lawrenceville with another positive experience.
If you could have pursued any sport other than ice hockey, what would you have chosen?
Golf or tennis! Love both sports!
