Young Republicans Raise Funds for Wounded Veterans
Lawrenceville’s Young Republicans are doing a sweet fundraiser for an important cause. From April 23-May 3, the club will sell pints of Halo Farms ice cream on campus to current Lawrentians for $5 with proceeds to benefit the Purple Heart Foundation. The Foundation funds programs and services for veterans and their families.
The Club will begin taking orders for Halo Farm ice cream today at lunch in the Irwin lobby. They will be in the Irwin and Abbott Dining Halls from this Thursday through Friday of next week taking orders as well. For those off campus who would like to contribute, please visit the Purple Heart Foundation Donate Now page. If you wish, you can note that your donation is in honor of the Lawrenceville School Young Republicans. The Club can’t deliver ice cream to you off campus, but your donation will be going to a great cause.
Co-Presidents Lucas Maloney ‘19, Isabelle Monaghan ’20, and Kevin Xiao ’19 lead Lawrenceville’s Young Republicans Club. They selected the Purple Heart Foundation, Xiao said, because, “From our research into prominent veterans’ support organizations and charities, we believe that the Purple Heart Foundation is one of the leading organizations that has supported our nation’s troops and their transition back to civilian life through counseling and post-service career and life opportunities.”

Retired U.S. Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) spoke at Lawrenceville on Monday evening, quoting Lincoln’s first inaugural address as he encouraged students to “search "for the better angels of our nature” during this time of political diverseness.
Through House and Harkness, Lawrenceville challenges a diverse community of promising young people to lead lives of learning, integrity, and high purpose. Our mission is to inspire the best in each to seek the best for all.
