Lawrentians “Outstanding” at Model Arab League

Congratulations to the team of Damla Ozdemir ’19 and Andrew Xu ’19, recognized as an Outstanding Delegation (representing the United Arab Emirates) at the Model Arab League (MAL) in Washington, D.C. last weekend. This is the second time Xu has competed and the third for Ozdemir.
MAL competition is similar to that of the Model United Nations, with students researching positions of their assigned countries (one of the 22 League of Arab State nations) and developing points and agendas to discuss in committee. Founded in 1983, the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations MAL now boasts 19 annual events throughout the United States.
