If you could invite three scientists (living or dead) to join you at a Harkness table, who would you select and what would you like to discuss?
I would select Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, and Carl Sagan. The topic that I would want to discuss would be if they thought their lives had meaning. I would have them discuss what they thought of the world, what they contributed and see how one's accomplishments affected the other. I think it would be interesting to see how they react to each other's discoveries.
If you could be any fictional character for a day, who would you choose?
I would be The Flash. I think it would be interesting to be outside the laws of thermodynamics and be able to control your acceleration thus possibly being able to reach infinite mass/ infinite energy.
What’s one talent that you’d like to have?
One talent that I would love to have is playing the piano. I love to sing songs by Ray Charles and being able to accompany myself in the piano would be a dream come true.
What did you learned as a Lawrenceville student you think will help you as a Lawrenceville teacher?
I learned a lot of things as a Lawrenceville student that will help me as a Lawrenceville teacher but I think the most useful thing is knowing the types of pressures and struggle that my students are going through and being able to use that knowledge to both challenge and connect with my students.
Best dining hall meal?
Best dining hall meal is stuffed shells. I loved them when I was a student and I still do as a teacher.
If you could visit any time period and place, when and where would you go?
The 1950s and 1960s in New York City. It had some of the most amazing clothes, music, and art. I am fascinated by all the movements and all the changing dynamics of that time period.
