Girls’ varsity fencing had a stellar weekend, placing third in epee at the 40th annual Santelli High School Fencing Tournament. Congratulations to Karina Leung ‘19, Marta Baziuk ‘20, Lisa Miller ‘19, and Yukki Qiu ‘20, who fought their way through tough competition in what is recognized as the largest high school fencing tournament in the world. This year, almost 100 teams from New Jersey and New York competed at the event, held at Drew University (Madison, N.J.)
Head Coach Rich Beischer reports that the girls’ foil squad earned a spot in the second pool, placing eleventh. Divya Sammeta ’20 was “an inspiration,” according to Beischer, with “powerful support” from Morgan Rogerson ’22 and Third Formers Katelyn Ge and Danica Bajaj.

Through House and Harkness, Lawrenceville challenges a diverse community of promising young people to lead lives of learning, integrity, and high purpose. Our mission is to inspire the best in each to seek the best for all.
