Mission Statement

The mission of the Strength and Conditioning Department is to enhance the quality of physical development for student athletes and those students engaged in physical activity at The Lawrenceville School.

Our Program

Pre-season is the best time to prepare the body for a rigorous season. All major strength and power gains should be accomplished during this time. Once the athlete enters his/her sports season, it is then vital to continue to strength train once or twice per week to maintain the pre-season gains. Each athlete will gradually lose what he/she has gained as the in-season progresses; however, in-season lifting will help to slow down this de-conditioning process.

We strive to accomplish these goals throughout our program:
  • Develop strength, power, speed, agility, and durability
  • Design programs based on needs of team, sport, and athlete
  • Increase overall athleticism
  • Set a proper foundation for lifetime health and wellness
  • Decrease sport specific injury
  • Emphasize full body movements and train full range of motion
  • Build discipline and work ethic
  • Prepare each athlete for the next level of athletics
The Al-Rashid Strength and Conditioning Center is open during the academic day. Please contact Coach Rienzo and Coach Wise for assistance with a specialized training program and schedule to meet your goals.

Policies & Procedures

Primarily, training for Lawrenceville student-athletes will take place in the Al Rashid Strength and Conditioning Center, and will be implemented by the Strength and Conditioning Coaches. Each team’s respective coaches are requested to attend lifting sessions for support, and to ensure team attendance. Additionally, speed mechanics, agility, and conditioning training may be administered during practices at the team’s respective venue.
