Request Information and we’ll mail you our viewbook! You will also receive invitations to events in your area and will be able to schedule a campus visit. Please allow us 24 hours to process the form before scheduling a campus tour/interview.
Experience our vibrant community! You’ll have a student-led tour around our historic campus and through our modern buildings. If you visit during the interview season (September to January), you will also interview with one of our Admission Counselors. To schedule a tour, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (609) 895-2030. Before scheduling your campus visit, please make sure you have completed our Request Information Form, located in Step 1.
Thank you for your interest in applying to The Lawrenceville School. At this time we have allocated all of our available on-campus interview spaces. We encourage all applicants to complete the application process without an interview. After reviewing your application, our Admission Team will reach out to schedule an interview if possible.
All testing must be from the current academic year.
To guarantee a March 9 admission decision, you must take the SSAT between September and January prior to your intended entrance. Please let the Admission Office know if you've had to delay testing beyond January.
Candidates for grades 9 and 10 must take the SSAT* (www.ssat.org) or ISEE. We only accept test scores directly from the testing organization; we do not accept copies from your school or consultant.
11th grade candidates may submit the results of the SSAT, PSAT, SAT, or ACT.
12th grade and Post-Graduate candidates may submit results from PSAT, SAT, and ACT.
International Applicants: All international applicants must demonstrate proficiency in oral and written English. For applicants whose native language is not English, and whose language of instruction for the most recent four years of schooling has not been English, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required. The Lawrenceville School does not offer a formal ESL program; however, academic support is available for international students on a limited basis.
*The SSAT test is typically given several times throughout the application year per the schedule listed on the SSAT website. The test itself may be taken more than once and all of the scores will be accepted. We recommend candidates sign up for either the November or December test date, thereby leaving January as an additional option if needed. Be sure to list the Lawrenceville code (4564) when you register for the test. To prevent delays be sure to list us as a score recipient when you register for your test.
Domestic candidates please email our office at email@example.com to request an SSAT test fee waiver if you are experiencing financial hardship.

All applicants to Lawrenceville are strongly recommended to submit the Character Skills Snapshot. Lawrenceville is more than just a place where you will learn math, English and science. We believe the reason you are considering Lawrenceville is because you’re interested in an education that goes beyond the classroom and encourages personal growth. Similarly, we know that you are much more than grades and test scores. That’s why we’re asking you to take the Character Skills Snapshot, which looks at eight non-cognitive areas, and will hopefully be a fun, exploratory exercise for applicants. For the applicants who submit it, the CSS will provide us with richer information about you, and show us areas where our community can help you grow, thrive, and shine.
How to Take the Character Skills Snapshot
If you will be taking the SSAT test, you can register for both the test and the Character Skills Snapshot at the same time. You can begin by creating an SSAT account. The Character Skills Snapshot can only be taken from the student account, not the parent account. The student must be logged in to see the Character Skills Snapshot access.
Click here for Step by Step information on how to access the Character Skills Snaphot and to also view a list of frequently asked questions, review a sample score report, register for a free webinar, and learn much more about the Character Skills Snapshot.
For students not taking the SSAT test, please click here for directions on how to register for the Character Skills Snapshot. The fee for the Character Skills Snapshot is $35.00 for students not taking the SSAT. Domestic families for whom this would create a financial hardship may ask for a fee waiver by emailing email@example.com.
Please refer to the SAO checklist to make sure that you have submitted all required documents for the Lawrenceville application process.
Please note: Lawrenceville does not accept the Gateway application.
$50 for domestic candidates
$100 for international candidates
Domestic candidates please email our office at firstname.lastname@example.org to request an application fee waiver if you are experiencing financial hardship.
We encourage you to use our Athletic Inquiry Form or Art Inquiry Form to submit supplemental materials pertaining to those interests—otherwise, please submit any supplemental materials by emailing PDF files or HTML links to publicly available sites (i.e. YouTube) to email@example.com. Please include the applicant's full name and a brief description of the file (eg. John Smith-artwork.pdf). If we feel the submitted material adds value to your application, it will be added to your file.

Please know that most applicants do not submit any supplemental materials. The application provides the Admission Committee with the information for the basis of the admission decision. We can only accept PDF attachments or links to publicly available sites. Materials submitted in any other format will not be reviewed as part of the application process.
Financial Aid Candidates
Please check the financial aid request box on the Request Information Form. Parents who will apply for financial aid must complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) online at solutionsbysss.com/parents with the School and Student Services (SSS) by January 15. Be sure to list The Lawrenceville School code 4564. Send a copy of the past year Federal Income Tax Return and W-2 Form to SSS and follow instructions listed on the SSS website. In case of divorce or separation, both parents are required to complete the Parents' Financial Statement.
