The Athletic Training Student Aide Program (ATSA) was formally established in the Fall of 1989. Subsequently, hundreds of students have taken part in the program filling the necessary positions each year.

The goals and objectives of this program range from an introduction to athletic training and other related medical professions to rehabilitation techniques of injured athletes. The responsibilities of the ATSA also vary depending upon their level in the program. The ATSA attends one 30-minute class per week to learn the required skills.
