Allen Fitzpatrick '73 H'85 '89 rejoined the Lawrenceville family in 1979 after graduating from Middlebury College in 1978. During his tenure at Lawrenceville he has coached the boys' varsity hockey team (1979-1993), has served as the art department chair (1989-1999, 2007- present), and has been the head coach of the boys' varsity lacrosse since 2000. As a student at Lawrenceville, Fitzpatrick also lettered in football, hockey (captain) and lacrosse, and was athlete of the year his senior year.
While at Middlebury, he played four seasons of hockey and lacrosse. He captained both teams in his senior year, earning All-East honors in hockey and All-New England in lacrosse. He still holds the single season assist record at Middlebury (50) and was second in the nation in Division II scoring his senior year with 84 points.
Coach Fitzpatrick's teams have won State Prep Championships for twelve consecutive years. In 2004 and 2008 he was named NJ Pitt Division “Coach of the Year.” and in 2010 Coach Fitzpatrick was named The Trenton Times Prep "Coach of the Year." He recently joined the US Lacrosse Century Club with his 200th win.
Three Lawrenceville School Fifth Formers signed NCAA National Letters of Intent this morning, committing to continue their career as student-athletes at the college level.
