Tom is coming out of retirement to join the Lawrenceville Admission Team for the 2018-19 school year as the Interim Dean of Enrollment Management. He is both thrilled and honored to have been presented with this opportunity. Tom’s career in boarding schools spanned the course of forty-one years. He began as a math teacher, coach, and dormitory resident making the transition to admission work first as an Assistant Director at Williston Northampton, then as Senior Associate and Director of Financial Aid at Choate Rosemary Hall, concluding with a seventeen year stint as Director of Admission at Loomis Chaffee. Tom served for twelve years on the Board of Directors of the Enrollment Management Association. In 2009 he was presented with that organization’s Hull Maynard Presidential Award for outstanding service to the organization. Since retiring in 2014, he has been working with the American Education Group-Vietnam consulting with Vietnamese families seeking US boarding schools for their children. Tom and his wife, Mary Collopy, also a former independent school teacher then corporate writer and editor, love spending time with their three grown sons, their delightful daughters-in-law, and five wonderful grandchildren, Alana, Hannah, Lila, Jacob, and Rowan.
