As the leaves fall from the trees and the temperatures begin to drop, fall term quickly comes to an end, and winter term begins. Some students associate winter with colder, shorter days, and contend that spring is the best time of the school year because of the mild weather and anticipation of summer. In my opinion, winter term is one of the best times of the school year. Sure, the snow and holiday festivities are a few highlights, but above all, it is ice hockey season at Lawrenceville!
It's 7:30 a.m. on Saturday and my alarm just woke me from a deep sleep - time for class! I jump out of bed, get ready, grab a quick bite to eat, and hop in the car for the short drive to school. I soon arrive on campus and make my way into the Griswold House where, even though it's Saturday morning, there is an extra level of energy. Everyone seems excited to begin the day.
House Olympics is a special event for Lawrenceville, and the highlight of my first week as a Third Former. The days leading up to the big event were filled with students coming together as a House and hyping each other up for when the Circle and Crescent Houses would finally meet to compete for the 2019 House Olympics Trophy. A positive energy permeated each House and the entire school community, as everyone was ecstatic.
Through House and Harkness, Lawrenceville challenges a diverse community of promising young people to lead lives of learning, integrity, and high purpose. Our mission is to inspire the best in each to seek the best for all.
