Katie Chaput joined the Lawrenceville faculty in 2013 as an English Master. She comes to the Lawrenceville track program with three years as head cross country coach at Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) School and a year of coaching experience at the Groton School. At NMH, she led the girls' distance program to their highest finish at New England Preparatory School Championships in recent years, coaching two runners to top-15 finishes in one of the most competitive leagues in New England. At Groton, she assisted coaching the boys' distance team to an Independent School League championship in 2009.
Chaput ran Division I cross country and track at Syracuse University, where she captained the team her junior and senior years. She earned Big East honors, placing 6th in the 3000 meter steeplechase as a senior, and qualified for the NCAA Eastern Regional Championship in both her junior and senior years. She still runs competitively as a member of the Garden State Track Club.
