The Lawrenceville School hired former NFL and Princeton University football player Harry Flaherty as its head football coach. In addition to his head coaching duties, Flaherty teaches history, and works in the admissions department. Flaherty is a New Jersey native who graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School before attending Princeton University, Class of 2011.
While at Princeton, Flaherty was a three-year starter at tight end and graduated with a degree in history. He played in the 2011 National Football League Players Association All-Star Game before signing as a free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2011 and the Dallas Cowboys in 2012.
Flaherty comes to Lawrenceville from the University of Tennessee, where he earned a law degree while coaching football as an Offensive Assistant for the Volunteers and working with their tight ends.
